Year-Round Events

Shibley is a place for our families to gather throughout the year! We also participate in and sponsor many community and school events so that we can keep in touch throughout the year. Some of our favorite year-round events include:

Year-Round Events

Shibley is a place for our families to gather all year long! We welcome families to camp nearly every month between summers. It’s a chance for campers to reunite with friends and staff, and for new campers to explore the grounds and meet friendly faces before their first bus ride.

Thinking about Shibley for your family? Our events are a great way to visit camp, meet our directors and staff, and see what Shibley is all about. You don’t need to be enrolled to join us. New families are always welcome! Email info@shibleydaycamp.com or call (516) 621-8777 to RSVP.

Annual Events

Fall & Spring Festivals These two events (October and May) are for the whole family! Enjoy games, music, refreshments, air bungee, the Green Giant, zip lining, and a chance to explore our beautiful 20-acre wooded campus with family and friends.

Holiday BINGO on Zoom Grab your cards and play from home for a chance to win Shibley prizes. It’s a cozy way to stay connected with camp friends over the holidays.

Winter Themed Play Days Each January, February and March, we invite campers back for themed mornings of crafts, games, races and free play, from Winter Wonderland to our Super Bowl and March Madness pre-parties. These take place in Attara, the large white mansion in camp that was once home to our founder, Jeannie Shibley.

Open Play & Picnic Each spring, we open camp on a weekend so families can play and picnic on our beautiful grounds.

Family Outing to Citi Field Each spring, we reserve a section of tickets for a family outing to the ballpark. We seat families with kids of the same age near each other, so campers can meet future groupmates and parents can mingle with our leadership team and summer staff. Let’s go Mets!

Junior Camper Pool Party & Bus Ride (& Pre-Camp Swim Lessons) In June, before camp starts, our youngest campers come splash in our pools and take a short ride on the bus. Parents supervise, and lifeguards and bus counselors are on duty. It’s a wonderful way for our youngest campers to meet Shibley staff, make friends and get comfortable with camp before day one.

Another great way to get a head start is to sign up for private or semi-private swim lessons on the weekends in June.

Parties, Events & School Field Trips We have indoor and outdoor space available for birthday parties, graduation parties and other events for children and families. Host a pool party in June, July or August!

Our 20-acre wooded campus is also a great destination for school field trips. Students can explore our grounds, play on our fields and enjoy a day of camp fun with their classmates.
